    Hello John,
I literally signed up to your ” 7 step shred” ten minutes ago. Part 1 is excellent and the acquisition of a new positive can do over 50 mindset, together with commitment and self accountability adds up to a huge wake up call for someone who has listened to those who belong to the “it’s all downhill now you’re fifty” camp. Can’t wait to receive parts 2-7. Keep up the great work.

    Regards,
    David

I’m 54 years old 5’6 210 lbs I’ve had 5 surgeries 3 in the last few years. Two arm surgeries, stomach surgery and two back surgeries. I stayed pretty active over the years, working out 5 times a week weights, cardio….ect. Seems like no matter how hard I work out I can’t get back down to the 168 lbs I was 11 years ago. I just want to dial in my diet, protein, carb intake to achieve a muscular and lean physique.

Hi Charlie, do you know your body fat %? Assuming fully developed rectus abdominus, a male usually needs body fat down to the 10% range. This varies somewhat by individual, but generally body fat loves to linger in the crevices between muscles, hiding their definition. Go to a supplement or sports store and purchase a body fat meter (make sure it’s not BMI but actual body fat %), or go to your local gym where they can do it for you. If needed, you may need to modify your diet to get down into the 10% range, including fewer calories and fewer carbohydrates. Hope this helps, best wishes on your goals!
